I heard this cd “Cut & Paste Soul” by Odetta on myspace and this beat had me from jump! The soulful vibe to it had me humming the hook right away so I wrote a quick something to reflect the time. Living in Toronto in my one bedroom apt looking out the window thinking how we all want so much more yet can’t see what we already have. Here we are was never released or even worked on any further because once I got a hold of the producer someone had already jumped on it. boo! So here it is in it’s raw splendor for you to take in. This track has always been a favourite for me. From the intro to the beat, again produced by catalist, to the emceeing always felt like some classic ish. Raw Shit features Sibbs Roc who was also featured on the MINDGRENADE EP. After recording this we went on to write a full album under the name “The Truth” Unfortunately we never finished the recording process and the moment seems to have been just that. A moment.
