Fresh off his latest single and video “Material Girl”, Harvey Stripes flips his style and comes with a gritty street banger. From the jump, “Big Deal” hits hard with some dope production by Beat Merchant. The snare drums, along with what sounds like bongo drums in the background, are coupled with ominous tones that give Stripes the canvas on which he illustrates his bravado.
Given the title, this song is about Stripes telling the world about his skills and making them take notice. He shows his confidence with lines like “foamin at the mouth and you barkin at a big dog/all I’m about is a dolla dolla bill y’all”. And let’s not forget about JD Era lending his support to Stripes’ cause by contributing the hook, which only completes the message Stripes is trying to send.
It’s obvious that Stripes is comfortable in his skills as he prepares his album, featuring a lead single with R&B star Lloyd. If he stays on his grind, there’s no doubt that come the end of the year, he will be a “Big Deal”.
