Round 2: One on One – Creating Relationships
Time: 2:30pm – 3:45pm

In this new addition to the conference, we’re dedicating one hour to the importance of networking. Unfortunately, many artists (producers, managers, etc) do not have relationships with key industry executives and this can create obstacles for artists to receive exposure and proper advice. Each participant will book five minutes with a maximum of three (3) advisors of their choice, and can ask for advice or feedback. Once their five minutes have been completed, the participant will proceed to the next advisor on his/her appointment schedule and continue until their entire schedule has been completed. One on Ones can be a great benefit to artists, producers, managers, etc. because it not only gives them a chance to network in a more initiate setting, but it also allows the artist to properly strategize the next step in their career.

Round 3: Keynote Interview with DJ Scratch + EPMD
Time: 4:00pm – 5:30pm

We will feature internationally known DJ and producer, DJ Scratch, who will speak to his own experience of facing the unique challenges of being a Producer/DJ today. He will demonstrate ingenuity, entrepreneurship and the self branding necessary to be a major player in the competitive international DJ and music industry.

A pioneering duo out of Long Island, EPMD (Erick and Parrish Making Dollars) released their first single “It’s My Thing” b/w “You’re A Customer” in 1987. Their debut album Strictly Business dropped in ’88 and was an instant classic. Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith will be shedding light on what it takes to make it in the hip hop industry and how they were able to get where they are today.
