The Detroit daughter Invincible just blew through Toronto, where Comrade Rach (shouts!) tells me she spat a phenomenal show. But I already knew it was lucky for me that I’m going to see her tomorrow night at Le Consulat, where she is the headliner for Artists Against Apartheid XIV.

If you haven’t checked out Invincible’s 2008 album Shapeshifters, you really should. Beyond the fact it’s chocked full of smart and timely political and social criticism, it’s a lyrical masterpiece that features ┬ásome hot production from Black Milk (ie. “Recognize”) and some of Detroit’s finest emcees.

Cop “Don’t Sleep” on iTunes, or click the “Shapeshifters” link above for the full album (recommended).
