I was over at Herohill this morning, where I found this new track from Vancouver-based producer TOR who makes beats mashups, remixes, and original productions. TOR says his sound is influenced by Bonobo, early DJ Shadow, Emancipator and Kno of Cunninlynguists. He describes “Aperture” as a “melodic, sample based track with rhodes, clarinet, dirty drums and pitched up french vocals.” I’ve been all up on Bonobo’s latest 2010 record and am already itching for another, so a little TOR is a welcome addition to my playlist, no doubt about it.

You may also know TOR from his Sufjan Stevens goes-hip-hop remix album Illinoize, which I’ll be posting and highlighting over the next week.
