I’ll admit, Homeboy Sandman’s music has been a bit of an acquired taste for me. I haven’t been quick to embrace his style in the past; some of it is a little too out there for me, and yet, some of it is fantastic, like “Peace & Love”. Once again, in All That I Hold Dear‘s “Musician”, the Stones Throw emcee has released a song that proves he’s worth the high praise he’s given from artists like Shad and Soul Khan – the latter of whom makes no hesitation in labelling him the “best rapper of this era hands-down.” While I’m not ready to go that far yet, I’m certainly warming up to him with each release like this.
