I’ll confess, I slept on this one. Blame One and J57 dropped the collaborative Walk in the Sun LP over a month ago, and despite my best intentions to stay on top of it, I ultimately forgot. Well, no longer. After sharing my initial high hopes following the Soul Khan-assisted title track, I can now conclude that the rest of the album is a solid listen. It’s East Coast meets West Coast, Dirty Science meets Brown Bag AllStars. Brown Bag’s J57 – the man responsible for some of my favourite production of the past couple years – handles the beats here as Blame One goes in on the mic. As can be expected from a pairing like that, it means a project full of excellent production and on-point rhyming. Stream the entire album below.
