Young Savage, an upcoming artist from Philly, has just released his EP Camos & Jordans after giving us a preview with his single “Sold Out”. Savage sets the bar high with his opening track, “Camos N J’s”, a catchy introduction into the EP that showcases Savage’s witty wordplay and energy that I heard from “Sold Out”. What I love about this EP is that every song is likeable- Savage’s intensity and flows never wane, whether it be in a hype track like “OJ Mayo”, a slower psuedo-love jam like “Stay”, or a laid-back tune such as “Savages”. Every song seems perfectly chosen for this EP, and the dedication that went into each track is obvious- and admirable.
Camos & Jordans features GOOD Music poet Malik Yusef, Re-Up Gang’s Ab-Liva, Philly legends Young Chris, Gillie Da Kid, and Tone Trump. The EP also includes newcomers Asia Sparks, Fools Gold’s Grande Marshall, and Ryshon Jones. Production for Camos & Jordans includes, from DJ Khaled’s We The Best, platinum producer Lee On The Beats as well as Grand Hustle’s producer Stroud.
One thing is for sure: Savage is definitely Philly’s rising star. He spits crazy rhymes and his word flow is insane. I loved this mixtape- Savage really knows how to deliver.
