During SXSW this past March, SCBB (Houston, TX) and The Beat Academy (Toronto, CA) came together for the first ever international team beat battle at SXSW. Guided by Grammy Award Winning producer, Boi-1da, team Toronto faced Team Texas in a heated, 5 round battle consisting of different categories. The final round, labeled, Frankenstein featured original production from both teams in which each member was required to collaborate with one another as a collective. The final product from team Toronto resulted in “416,” a masterpiece produced by WondaGurl, Rich Kidd, Chef Byer, J Reid, Nick Nikon, Superville, 2oolman, DZL & C-Sharp. Watch the crowd and judges react after hearing it for the first time (13:23) and let us know which Toronto artist(s) you think would be best suited for this beat in the comments section. Don’t forget the Battle Of The Americas is happening on June 21 during NXNE week and it’s co-hosted by our own DJ Chedo!
