I’m happy to present the full interview with Kanye West, Steve Stoute and Ben Horowitz held in Cannes, France as a part of the annual Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. In a seminar titled “Technology, Culture, and Consumer Adoption: Learning to Read the Cultural Landscape,” this is a conversation you want to sit down and take notes! One of the many things that I connect with Kanye West on this is that he says:
I do think it’s really noisy….us being in a fast food of information and tech, people are rushing to get the new product or song out, things don’t have time to incubate and develop and become something that people really fully understand that grows within itself.
I relate to this especially in the music world where we receive over hundreds of submissions daily, do you feel like you are rushed when listening to music? Do you still take the time to listen to a full album and how long do you listen to it? I remember in high school the average album I would listen to was a period over 2-3 months and then I move on to something else and come back to it. Let me know your experience in the comment section below. Props to The Stashed on the premiere.
