When Jay-Z dropped, Reasonable Doubt, back in 1996, his future protege was just getting his feet wet in the rap game. Check out this recently surfaced video of a 19 year old Kanye West spitting a quick verse during the opening party for Fat Beats in NYC-August of 1996. DJ Eclipse, the former general manager of the Fat Beats New York store recently spoke on the vintage footage with Complex magazine. When looking back at the video, Eclipse, mentioned seeing clips of prominent 96′ artists such as Lord Finesse,Al Tariq, Black Attack, Xzibit, Shabaam Sahdeeq and many more. But what took Eclipse by surprise was the appearance of this 19-year-old kid who at that time nobody knew. At least in NYC.
