VNCHY, the 19 year old rapper repping Ottawa, Canada is back with his gritty new single “Broke Dreams” from his upcoming “Neverland” EP which is slated for a July release. Produced by Prezident Jeff, “Broke Dreams” aims for a lyrical track with some dark undertones, and translates the feeling quite well.
VNCHY, the Congo-born artist reflects on being raised as the son of a preacher while his mother held the family together like “brackets within a function”. In addition to the influence his family had on himself, and how he was raised, VNCHY’s infatuation with the entertainment lifestyle stems from an unyielding confidence in his skills as an emcee. With a gritty voice reminiscent of Sticky Fingaz, DMX, as well as Nine, VNCHY is an artist to watch out for. The track boasts impressive production by Prezident Jeff, which compliments the vocals, and allows for a more creative take on the track.
“Broke Dreams” is the second single from VNCHY’s “Neverland” EP, following “19+” which was released earlier this month. How do you feel about this Ottawa based artist? Let us know in the comments.
