[Audio] GoldLink- “Spectrum” (Prod. Louie Lastic)

One of the members of the 2014 XXL Freshman Class, GoldLink is back with a hot upbeat track entitled “Spectrum“. Produced by longtime collaborator Louie Lastic, “Spectrum” ¬†holds GoldLink’s high speed vocals, mixed with Louie Lastic’s unmistakably unique production. After dropping a couple tracks in the form of “Movin’ On“, also featuring Louie Lastic, and “Dance On Me“, it can easily be said that the DMV rapper GoldLink is on the top of his game.

Following his critically acclaimed debut “The God Complex“, GoldLink is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. His latest show in Toronto as part of the Red Bull Sound Select Series with Keita Juma, and AKUA was something to behold to say the least. Goldlink has been working with Rick Rubin recently as well, so his game is about to hit another level. Not sure who Rick Rubin is? Well to put it simply, he is the former co-president of Columbia Records, and the founder of Def Jam Records, that’s quite a resume.

“Spectrum” begins with a hook in the form of a female spitting a couple bars, before she starts speaking in a different language. A truly intriguing introduction to say the least. Before long, the God himself GoldLink jumps in with his rocket speed bars that set him apart from the rest. The catchy hook shows itself once again with some emphasis on the head banging production courtesy of Louie Lastic. GoldLink jumps right back in following the hook and simply murders the polished beat with his confident sound. The outro has the hook go in one last time while the production takes a little more of a backseat, before you hear Louie’s signature “Lastic” sound byte. The track is truly different from the norm, in more ways than just one.

Good old GoldLink does it again with another hit in the form of “Spectrum”, but what’s next for him? You might be surprised, but it seems like GoldLink’s sophomore album has just been named as “And After That We Didn’t Talk“, and is slated for a November 13th release date. Mark it on your calendars, because this should be one for the books.
