J. Cole is back with the visuals to “Love Yourz,” peformed live in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I’ll admit, I slept on 2014 Forest Hills Drive, but Cole is really speaking the truth these days. (Just listen to his podcast with the Combat Jack Show from last year.)
On “Love Yourz,” Cole raps about finding inner peace and the toxic nature of comparing one’s life to others:
“Always gon’ be a bigger house somewhere, but n—a feel me/ Long as the people in that motherf—er love you dearly/ Always gon’ be a whip that’s better than the one you got/ Always gon’ be some clothes that’s fresher than the ones you rock/ Always gon’ be a b—h that’s badder out there on the tours/ But you ain’t never gon’ be happy ’til you love yours.”
