Ali Good is a 23 year old emcee out of the D who’s looking to bring back that illmatic mind state to hip hop. I came across this gem while looking through The Come Up Show music inbox and was instantly drawn to Ali Good’s nostalgic conscious hip hop vibe. Ali’s lyrical content is reminiscent of a classic Common Sense record and his word play brings you back to ’94 when “One Love” set the bar for rhyming skills. Aiming to shed light on the black experience in America, it only seems right that Ali Good ran with “Good Food” as his jump off single for his forth coming mixtape, Noir En Amérique.
“Good Food” is jam packed with thought provoking lyrics that touch on economics, race, religion and culture. Ali’s laid back flow and technically tight skills allow him to get his point across effortlessly over the boom bap inspired 5th sequence instrumental. “Good Food” has me excited to see what this emcees next move will be. Be sure to check this joint out, and be on the look for Noir En Amérique coming soon!
