K-OS – Views From The Stix

Viewsfromthestix

The legendary K-OS teams up with Kardinal Offishall, Saukrates, Shad, and Canadian producers Kaytranada and Boi-1da for the release of his second mixtape, Views from the Stix.

Completed in just three weeks, this project is a collection of songs created by K-OS in his native home in Whitby, Ontario. The tape is mainly a set of free-style verses recorded over demos and mastered with the works of Boi-1da and Kaytranada . Taking a shorter approach, songs on this tape average out to two minutes in length and the album collectively has fifteen track in total.
Although this tape might sound like a spin-off of Drake’s Views From The 6ix, there is actually a logical explanation behind the title as K-OS explains “There has always been this push and pull as to what is the more authentic hip hop viewpoint. Is it only going to be urban city life? Or can hip hop be authentic no matter where you live? To me, the stix is really just anywhere outside of that conventional city life.”

As a Canadian Hip Hop icon, it’s no surprise that K-OS delivers incredible and raw rap in a very classic form. Check out the tape below!
