With the recent release of his latest album Carp Diem, The Scarborough native Tona Tencreddi has returned with some incredible music to share from his upcoming album The Ivy League. Tona teases us with the all new track Grime Date, alongside good friend Skripture, an artist from the UK whom Tona had met in his recent trip. The production was handled by none other than the illustrious Tone Mason, with a respected past of production for the likes of Common, Drake, Jay-Z etc.
Inspiration for this track came to Tona from his most recent trip to London, England where he got his first taste in genuine British Grime, a genre everyone in the Hip Hop community highly respects. With an incredible up-beat sound that manages to twist the likes of Canadian Hip-Hop with a hint of Grime, Tona and Skripture come together in one of the most perfectly executed songs I’ve heard this month.
Check out the track below and make sure to keep your eyes peeled for more music coming from Tona as he soon releases his next album, The Ivy League.
