Jane Street singer/rapper J-Soul recently dropped the video to his new single “Slow Wine”, which may be the catchiest tune he has ever made. The video directed by Martin & Oscar chronicles J-Soul’s club escapades and pursuit of the girl in white. Keeping the Toronto sound alive, he delivers a memorable hook that compliments the tropical vibes of the track, courtesy of Mu2 Productions.
To say J-Soul has had a big year is an understatement, having been signed to Cash Money Records by co-founder Birdman back in February and amassing over a million plays on WorldStar for his hit “Toronto Plaza Hotel.” In one Instagram post he poses in a Pac shirt with Birdman, the caption reading “Last year I was homeless…life’s about to change.” Sure enough, a lot has changed for the Toronto native. Between working in studios in Miami and New York, to the re-release of his first EP November Twelve, J-Soul has been putting in work.
In an April interview on Beats 1, the singer hinted at a full new project set to drop by the end of this year entitled Lost Soul, with production from London on da Track. Stream the new video for “Slow Wine” above.
