Its about that time of the year again when the city comes together to support and celebrate community and culture. Kicking off tonight, Manifesto is bringing out a dope lineup of creatives from musicians to artists, and everything in between. In it’s twelfth year, the festival is set to be one for the books, as it brings back its two-day summit, a week long discovery series and caps things off with a free concert and full festival experience.


Thursday August 9 – 14: The Discovery Series

Aurora and Vancity Community Investment Bank present the first ever Manifesto Discovery Series.  Popping up in multiple Toronto venues and DIY spaces, the series showcases artists, collectives and local organizations that are building community and culture through music, visual arts, dance, comedy and more.

Check out performances from LIZA, Junia-T, Terell Morris, Stassia Daniels, DijahSB, Lu and more, as we well as a comedy show with laughter courtesy of Dom Pare, Big Norm and more. This weekend catch DJ NDN, Obuxum, a l l i e and a few special guests.

Wednesday, August 15 – Sunday, August 19: The Art Show

Running for four days, the Art Show showcases mixed media artists working in 3-dimensional forms with installations, sculpture and lighting pieces. This year’s show will also feature in depth artist talks exploring the creative process and evolution of three of Toronto’s most exciting visual artists: Hatecopy, Tessar Lo and Yung Yemi.

Thursday, August 16: House Party

Posted up at The Drake Hotel, you’ll find a hub of culture and community with Manifesto taking over EVERY. FLOOR. Watch people battle it out in the Underground, hang with dope creative crews from the city on the main floor, or check out the Sky Yard for some light art and conversation.

Thursday, August 16: Chronixx & Zinc Fence Redemption

Prior to taking over City Hall the next day, Chronixx & Zinc Fence Redemption will be bring the vibes over to Ossington Tire aka Manifesto House for an acoustic jam session, meet & greet and pop-up shop. Check it out at 146 Ossington Avenue from 5PM – 10PM.

Friday, August 17: Live at City Hall

Can Manifesto do no wrong? This year they may have out done themselves, hosting a 3×3 Basketball Tournament, a Dunk Contest, a Breaking Battle, a Market and of course, art installations and food trucks galore. It all goes down at City Hall and caps off with a FREE live performance from Chronixx and Toronto’s own Charlotte Day Wilson. Call up your friends and family, and come through to spend the day celebrating our city and it’s talent.

Saturday, August 18 – Sunday, August 19: The Summit

Making it’s return, the Summit will be taking place August 18th & 19th to drop some knowledge on you. With programming that reflects our music community and the voices that also shape the infrastructure around it, we can guarantee there will be some amazing conversations, a few debates and a whole lot of knowledge.
