The Vancouver collective known as the Sweatshop Union decided to release a free EP for their fans. The album is titled Sweatshop Union Is The Leisure Gang. This project comes shortly after the Union's Bill Murray EP which was released back in March. The Leisure Gang is filled with hard hitting beats and tight rhymes. Some of my early favourites from the EP are "King Of The Beach", "Love", and "L.A.M.M.". With that said, songs 1 through 7 are all dope tracks. The Canadian hip-hop collective just dropped the visuals for "Bill Murray", off their 2011 experimental Bill Murray EP. From their Bandcamp:

"The Bill Murray EP is Sweatshop Unions' most ambitious record to date. There's nothing else like it. Bill says so. The experimental concept album is best described as a runaway mushroom trip through the cosmos. Call it outer space jukebox music. When I first saw this video, I immediately did a double check through our inbox to see if we had somehow missed the video for Sweatshop Union's latest single "John Lennon." As it turns out, these visuals aren't official, but are rather a really well put together fan video by WalkingExplosion and is, as Sweatshop Union wrote in the youtube comment boards, the best fan video anyone has ever made for them. [Video] Sweatshop Union – “Makeshift Kingdom”

Director Stuey Kubrick consistently delivers the raddest visuals for not only Sweatshop Union, but for a pretty hefty chunk of Canadian hip-hop artists. This time, Kubrick and SU busted the bear carcasses out of their attics and headed up to the Jasper ice caves to the massive abandoned mines of Hope, BC., where they shot the video over three days. Watching along with the result of this surely dangerous and life-risking cinematic expedition, "Makeshift Kingdom" from The Bill Burray EP, turns into "post-apocalyptic hip-hop," just like the write up in our e-mail reads. How about them icicles?
