The Gaithersburg, Maryland emcee known as C Dot Castro is back with the visual for "F*ck About You", from his positively received mixtape "DOT" (Don't Over Think). With production from longtime collaborator Jae Faive, and visual direction from Adam McArthur, Castro has surely brought out all the stops for this mellow track that can't be ignored.
Castro, one of the founding members of The RattPack, featuring fellow emcee Logic, and longtime friend Big Lenbo has been releasing solo cuts for years before dropping his debut mixtape "DOT". C Dot Castro had an impressively loyal following before dropping his debut, and his fanbase has only grown stronger since.
"F*ck About You" starts off with a focus on the head bopping production courtesy of Jae Faive, before Castro's smooth hook takes center stage. The chorus, which states "I care way too much about me to give a f*ck about you" screams independence. Castro is learning that he doesn't have to worry about other people, he can live life the way he wishes, and he's more than okay with that. The mellow vibes associated with the track are refreshing, with Castro taking the road seldom taken. Castro also rips up the production when his verses come into play, surprising any listener expecting soft lyrics after the mellow chorus. Castro brings the heat. The visuals directed by Adam McArthur show Castro chilling on some mountains by the water, all in all having a good time, this relates to the subject matter quite well, as Castro's not worrying about anyone else, just himself.
If you're feeling what C Dot Castro is laying down, check out his latest track "One Too" featuring Earlly Mac, with production from Jae Faive. Castro is gearing up to be raps next big thing, so I wouldn't sleep on him. Castro is making moves and the worlds starting to notice.
