AntMan Wonder recently released the
Skyzoo and Dayna Watkins-assisted "Sleeping Giant 2", the first official release off his
Century Gun LP. The track serves as the sequel to a larger movement, "Sleeping Giant", off the album
Memories of the Fewture. For those unfamiliar, here's the lowdown: AntMan Wonder is a Philadelphia-based producer, who's also one half of The Getards (along with iLL-Meel). His name comes in part as homage to Stevie Wonder. As for "Sleeping Giant 2", well, just listen for yourself.
One of my favourite emcees is back, paying homage to another of my favourites. Skyzoo and Antman Wonder recently released An Ode To Reasonable Doubt, a nine-track reinterpreting of Jay-Z's classic debut. On AOTRD, Philadelphia composer Antman Wonder recreates the original beats with live orchestral arrangements as Skyzoo pens his own lyrics, frequently giving a nod to Jay-Z's lines by flipping them into an entirely new narrative.
