I've been out of my touch with the homie Azad Right, I discovered him a couple of years ago via his Time Is Right mixtape and we've been playing him on The Come Up Show Radio since then. This time around Azad Right teamed up with BC Kingdom to do a remix of their joint “Lock Up” which was featured on Solange’s Saint Heron compilation. What I love about Azad Right is the relatable topics he touches on, you most likely are going through the similar things if you listen to his body of work and "Unaffected" is another one of those songs. Tell me what you think of Azad Right in the comment section below and make sure to follow him on twitter.
Yes, one of my favourite up and coming artists is prepping for his new mixtape For The Hopeful releasing early next year. In the meantime he has decided to share with us the first single "Now I Know" produced by long time collaborator Jonathan Marques. If you are just catching up with Azad Right please start off with The Time is Right and the rest is history at least for me. What do you think of the new single? Leave your comment below.
I’m grateful for everyone that I’ve got to meet along the journey so far. You’ve all inspired me to grow in one way or another. It’s been a long time coming and I truly appreciate your patience. This shit hasn't gone as planned but I have the opportunity to do what I love for a living and that’s all that I can ask for. Thank you. Here’s the first leak from my upcoming project “For The Hopeful” coming early 2014. Azad Right
I used to think that I was wack cause I wasn't black. So I started blackin' out on every fuckin' track. Azad Right
I was really excited about this video when Azad Right gave me an advance screening a couple of days ago, as you might know we've been sharing his music for the past year but somehow we missed his mixtape Time Is Right which Colton posted yesterday. The song Showtime is featured on the same mixtape and Azad will be also placing it on his upcoming project For The Hopeful that's releasing later this Spring. Here is what Azad Right had to say about the video, make sure to let me know if you are feeling this Iranian artist from Santa Monica, I know I am!
This video was shot primarily with a camera rig (that weighed a ridiculous amount) and basically shows a day in the life in Los Angeles -- all the way from the beach in Santa Monica to the depths of Hollywood. We felt like this is a great introduction record to the project because my ultimate goal is to give the people a dose of the soulful, substance heavy Hip-Hop that my homies and I grew up on.
In September of last year, Azad Right blessed us listeners with the release of his second highly anticipated project The Time Is Right. If you are not too familiar with him by now, let me bring you up to speed. The 23 year old Santa Monica native has been involved with in the music industry for a while now and has been making his mark along the way. Being one of only three artists to be chosen by Adidas for an international spoken word campaign. Opening for Redman and Method Man, Phonte and 9th Wonder, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, and the list continues. Hit the link after the jump to check out the mixtape and view the full artwork.
Azad Right is back with the 4th #GetRightTuesday release called "So Impatient". This time the Cali native borrows a classic J Dilla instrumental for him to spit about the impatience that comes when dealing with his girl(s). This is definitely a cool joint, which is exactly what I've come to expect every time Azad gives us something new. He's building hype the right way, through dope music. So don't be impatient Mr. Right, your time will come. Stream and download "So Impatient" below and stay tuned for Azad's For The Hopeful project coming soon. Download: Azad Right ft.
