"Welcome to that epic side, where demons do the electric slide/ Sittin back, reflecting why my angels do they best to hide [...] I'm trying to build Heaven on Earth, I'll observe it through that joy and pain..."
ANTHM just dropped the visuals for "Fortuna" today, the intro track off his upcoming Joy & Pain EP. I'm definitely excited for Joy & Pain, after discovering ANTHM's dope When We Were Kings mixtape not too long ago. On "Fortuna", ANTHM showcases his introspective side over strings-driven production. Check out the visuals for "Fortuna" below, and be on the lookout for Joy & Pain in the future.
Following the release of his very dope 90s-themed When We Were Kings mixtape and video for "Can I Live", ANTHM teamed up with the man whose original song he paid tribute to, Black Rob. Together, the two dropped "Stolen Whips", another solid track by the Manhattan rapper who is quickly becoming one of my favourite new artists. Another reason to be excited is ANTHM's recent collaboration with Blu, another of my favourite rappers, on the upcoming song "Polaris". We'll be sure to keep you posted when it drops. Stream and download "Stolen Whips" below.
Manhattan artist ANTHM recently dropped his latest mixtape, the 90s-themed When We Were Kings. This is the first I've heard of ANTHM, and I'm already excited for his future. Dude sounds like a hybrid of Blu and Kendrick Lamar (high praise), and can definitely spit. His style is reminiscent of J. Cole on The Come Up mixtape: straight hunger. Early favourites are "Move Me", "Play On, Playa", and "Can I Live". Download the mixtape below and check out the video for "Can I Live", a nod to the Black Rob & The L.O.X. track, below.
