[Video] Common “This War We Fight” (Veteran’s Day Tribute)
Common performed "This War We Fight" at The White House for the 2014 Veterans Day celebration. I've always respected Common's approach to hip hop. The social commentary that the Chicago emcee packs in his lyrics always reflect the state of our society, and proves that hip hop is still a valid voice for positivity and change. Be sure to check out this powerful spoken word clip dedicated to the Veterans out there who made great sacrifices for our generation to be free. Well done, Com. [Audio] Common Feat. Vince Staples & Jay Electronica- “Kingdom Remix”
After debuting the original track at the BET awards along side Mike Browns parents, Common releases the three kings remix to "Kingdom." Along with a Vice Staples verse, the remix sees a rare appearance from Roc Nations Jay Electronica. Common takes us to church over the choir sampling instrumental, all three emcees come correct on this record. Be sure to take this track in, and share your thoughts with us. [Mixtape] Malik Yusef- “G.O.O.D Morning & G.O.O.D Night (Deconstructed)
G.O.O.D music artist Malik Yusef released his sophmoer album, G.O.O.D Morning & G.O.O.D Night back in 2009. Though not achieving great radio success, the project itself sold 600,000 copies, gaining acclaim for Yusef's spoken-word stylings. Along with a stellar list of guest appearances, the project showed the quality of music Yusef can create. Five years after its release, Malik re visits the project for a second release,G.O.O.D Morning & G.O.O.D Night Deconstructed.
The project contains some material from the retail release, along with newer guest features and brand new, original tunes. Features on the project includes Kanye West, John Legend, Common, Big Sean, Maroon 5's Adam Levine, KRS-One, Twista and CyHi The Prince among plenty of up-and-comers.
