What do you get when a Toronto based emcee teams up with an underground legend from New York? Pure Fire. Toronto born rapper Fortunato, and Sean Price collab on this gritty street single, and tackle the different levels of wackness they can't help but see in today's Hip-Hop industry. Shot in Brooklyn, NY by Spanish Fly Media, this all-star collaboration offers production from Sean One, and the comedic styling's of Sergio Chicon (Comedy Central, MTV) to help illustrate their point.
Fortunato has been on his grind for quite some time, and is no stranger to Toronto's Hip-Hop scene. In 2001, he began freestyle battling with battle rap leagues such as King of the Dot & Beastmode, and has even been known to take home tournament victory's. Fortunato has been making waves in the industry as well, with his 2008 debut "Anger Management" being named one of Exclaim's top 10 Hip-Hop albums of the year, and performing alongside some of rap's greats such as Freeway, and Smif N Wessun.
Sean Price, & Fortunato clearly aren't too impressed with the questionable motives in today's Hip-Hop, but what do you think? Would some MC's really sell their soul to get their song on a playlist? Would you? Let us know in the comments, and peep the video below. Stream/Download: Fortunato ft. Sean Price: “Don’t Drink the Kool Aid”
