The Come Up Show Seeks Writers and Critics!
HIP-HOP SITE SEEKS WRITERS AND CRITICS
Does the title Kardinal Offishall mean more to you than just a a weird way of referring to a red bird? Can you ref a battle between The Queen Bee and Roman Zolanski? Can you recite more than six Yeezy lines pre-Graduation? Do you have an ever-evolving list of the greatest emcees of all time, another for the greatest producers turned emcee, and another for emcees turned producer? Do you love hip-hop and have (interesting) things to say about it?
Walk with me.
The Come Up Show seeks creative writers and critics to part of a first rate blogging team for the 2011 winter term and potentially beyond. Candidates must have excellent research and writing skills, and have a vast knowledge of music. The Come Up Show writers will be responsible for seeking out and positing new music and news, developing relationships with artists, conducting interviews, and working closely with the site editor to create original and provocative music coverage. There may also be opportunity to gain experience in the editorial, marketing, and promotions departments.
The Come Up Show was founded in 2007 as a radio show in London, Ontario, but has since expanded its presence online through various online avenues of music journalism including music criticism and commentary, music news, and artist interviews (Raekwon, Reflection Eternal, Shad, Wale, Jay Electronica and more). The CUS broadly engages with all hip-hop, R&B and urban musics and their related beat-cousins, and there is a particular focus on the local music scene in Ontario and in Canada at large.
We are unable to pay contributers at this time, but we can offer writing experience, daily interaction with artists, and exposure in the music industry. Please submit a writing sample to music@thecomeupshow.com with "The Come Up Show Writing Team" in the subject line. It better be good, because we don’t let squares in our circle!www.thecomeupshow.com
