[News] RIP Guru (2 Year Anniversary)
Today marks the second anniversary of the legendary Gang Starr member's death. Born in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Keith Edward Elam began his rap career under the moniker MC Keithy E, changing later to Guru. He founded Gang Starr in 1987, and went on to release six critically acclaimed albums from 1989 to 2003. Two of those albums, Moment of Truth and Full Clip: A Decade of Gang Starr, were certified gold in the United States. Guru also had own solo series with the Jazzmatazz albums.On April 19, 2010, at the age of 48, Guru succumbed to cancer after being in a coma for nearly two months. He is dearly missed. His music continues to carry on his legacy.
