The homie G0lden G had UWO's Home Coming on a wave last week as he and his crew took over the celebrations with the filming of his latest release "100 At Western." Keeping up with his reoccurring theme of student life, the big man on campus flips the Game & Drake hit,"100," and gives us his own interpretation of what it means to keep everything 100. What I dig most about G0lden G's movement is that it's one hundred percent authentic. G0lden G is able to paint vivid pictures of real life experiences that everyone can relate to on one level or another, and then brakes these complex emotions into quick hitting rhymes that leave hip hop heads geeked. Gerome Nash has been putting on for his school for a minute now, and it's clear to see the that love is mutual. When watching this latest video, there's no question that G0lden G has made a huge impact on the UWO community, which has come to embrace the G child as their underground spokes man. This latest joint ozzes school pride, and makes me proud to be a UWO grad. Western Stand up, and show some love to a young gunner on the come up.
"Relevance" is the first single off G0LDEN G's upcoming solo LP, Intricate. This instrumental and entire album is produced by the talented, Sinclair, a close friend of G0LDEN and a fellow musician based out of Virginia. G0LDEN G describes Intricate as journey into his mind; thoughts of the past, the future and a focus on social issues that many young people of our generation avoid and sleep on. Intricate, looks to be a ground breaking project for Mr.G, as a new found confidence and swagger is already present in this first single. While you wait for the album to drop take in his latest effort, "Relevance," and share you thoughts with us.
Gerome Nash aka G0LDEN G celebrates his graduation from Fanshawe College in his latest video, "Credits," a flip on Drake's hit, "Trophies". The new song and video follow G0LDEN G through his graduation ceremony and reflects on all the academic and musical achievements gained by the G child during his stay at Fanshawe. Assisted by his talented friends; director Ryan Butler and camera man Rob Ratz, G0LDEN G holds it down one last time for the college, while proving he can more than hold his own over Drake's banging instrumental.
