As far as rap beef goes, this one is the strangest I've seen in awhile. After J. Cole mentioned Diggy in "
Grew Up Fast", saying "You more Diggy, me, I'm more Biggie/ No diss to the young boy, I'm just rapping, get bored quickly," Diggy took exception and finally responded with "What You Say To Me". Among Diggy's more direct disses:
"Who dat, who dat, you know who it is/ Heard you lyin on my sis, tellin people that you hit/ When your album drops, I'mma hit you with your bricks/ So I'mma bomb first on you since you wanna riff."
"Little n***a named Cole think he live like me/ Jet-setter, trendsetter, yeah you not like me/ Can't find a girl you know that do not like me/ Can't find a girl I know, who know you, you dumb fool."
I'm still trying to get my head around why Diggy would go after Cole, who is leagues ahead of him. At least he chose the timing right, he could always play it off as an April Fool's prank and save himself the humiliation. Stream and download the song below. Photo credit to Meredith Truax.
