I definitely wasn't expecting this one to drop late last night. I knew it was coming sometime this year having spoke to Jay Downz about it shortly after it was recorded, but he hit us all by surprise announcing a new project with the release of a crazy single "Count Me In" featuring Joell Ortiz. Recorded at Streestscape Sounds in London, Jay Downz linked up with Joell Ortiz while he was stopping through the city on tour, that studio session lead to something phenomenal being created. Jay Downz's new mixtape Antihero will hopefully be out in the near future, as well as his new instrumental tape. For now, take in the introduction to Antihero, "Count Me In" featuring Joell Ortiz. Remember the "Wu-Tang Forever" remix we dropped the other day? I've still been bumping that one and JR Fillion drops another remix this time over "Poundcake" featuring Jux Cain and Jay Downz. I got to preview this one last night early and instantly I was blown away, once again on this one they gave it a whole new vibe and go in for five minutes straight! JR Filion and Jux Cain's Story Up Bud EP is very close to being released so pay very close attention for that one to come out, and it's all original production on it as well. Take in this "Poundcake" remix which you can download afterwards. Download: JR Fillion ft. Jux Cain & Jay Downz - "Poundcake" Remix
I just can't get enough of how much talent we have going around the city here, the amount of talented artists coming out of London is amazing, definitely makes me proud to be involved in the scene. You may have caught London's Bill Beamin on Shhadeh & Graph Wize's album L.O Key; and if you came out to The Come Up Show's 6th Year Anniversary, or you attend concerts regularly in the city, you're quite familiar with his music. Part of the group The Most High, Bill Beamin just released an enlightening track which is basically summed up in one sentence, quoting Bill Beamin "The sky aint the limit, your mind frame is infinite" "Infinite Mind" is produced by Jay Downz and mixed by Graph Wize. Take it in and answer me this after, do you prefer mainstream music or do you prefer to seek artists that are just as talented but haven't been discovered yet?
Today we are proud to premiere JR Fillion's remix over Drake's "Wu-Tang Forever" featuring Jay Downz. The way this song came about was very sporadic, I sat down with both JR Fillion and Jay Downz to conduct an interview and they decided to give an exclusive for it which they wrote and recorded in under an hour; talk about talent! On this one JR Fillion sets it off right away making his own of the instrumental followed by Jay Downz. Both these emcees are dedicated to their work undoubtedly and this track portrays that work ethic one hundred percent. You can catch live footage of this studio session as well as some insight to this track once the interview drops, until then take in this exclusive "Wu-Tang Forever" remix by JR Fillion and Jay Downz and let me know what you think, which version do you enjoy better?
