[Audio] Jessica Kaya – “Heavy Heart” (Preview)

"Heavy Heart" is the second "draft"/preview from Toronto songstress Jessica Kaya's forthcoming Imperfections EP. Now that we've heard the Rich Kidd produced teaser for "Why Don't We" and since, this soft acoustic piano track with dubbed breathy vocals, Imperfections is starting to sound like a lovely bedroom album-- the kind you'd want to cuddle to. There aren't enough of those in hip-hop.

Our favorite songstress to team up with (one of our favorite producers of the year) Rich Kidd yet, is none other than Toronto's Jessica Kaya, who recently dropped the to-die for single "Heavy" (also a Rich Kidd production). I'm really, really, glad to hear they're coming with more material in a similar soft intimate style, mirrored in this snippet from "Why Don't We," a taster for her forthcoming EP titled Imperfections set to release in early 2011. The project is slated to be a collection of raw, unmastered drafts to be released "as is."

THIS is a draft? As a perfectionist myself I never thought I'd say it, but bring on the imperfections. Also, the nifty cover art is by Sean Brown.
