"Black Heart" is the latest body of work from Toronto's own XO crew member Julian Cruz. The mixtape is comprised of 11 tracks, in which Julian showcases his vocal talents and melodic, slow-beat-lyrics, wrapped in a dark sounding R&B vibe. I do feel the project lacks the variety that could have made it a more full & diverse piece of work, but the effort put in shows. Not to be confused with fellow XO member and upcoming star The Weeknd, Julian stands on his own with this mixtape and it is a welcome body of work from the XO crew.
