An artist like
Oddisee comes once every generation. The sincerity, intelligence, integrity, and musical inclination is an incredibly rare combination Oddisee possesses. Respected by Hip Hop's top rappers, it's interesting to see who he cosigns or connects with.
Raised in South Germany,
JuJu Rogers is the son of a American G.I and German Austrian Mother. Signed to
Jakarta Records, Rogers has yet to release a project, but made quite an impact on Oddisee while meeting at the label's president's home in 2013.
Also from Germany, producer
Jusoul provides an inspiring instrumental for the two talented rappers to lay their knowledge on. Beginning with soulful strings, Jusoul chops it up and adds a heavy groove of acoustic drums and bass. Vocally the two rappers gel as well, with Juju having a higher voice in contrast to Oddisee's deep and gritty vocals, the combination creates a very natural flow to the arrangement. And of course the content is worth paying attention to as the emcees trade verses of the trial and tribulations of the come up, but give passionate answers to keep prevailing no matter the circumstance.
A multi dimensional track featuring an underground legend is a impressive introduction. With his debut project
From The Life Of a Good-For-Nothing arriving July 3rd, Juju Rogers is projected to have a thriving career here and overseas. Also, if you haven't already checked it out listen to Oddisee's new release
The Good Fight which is now available on Bandcamp.
