This shit right here... Kami de Chukwu is from Chicago and is affiliated with the cities up and coming hip-hop movement SaveMoney. A few days ago Kami released his first mixtape titled
Light and it is very impressive, specially for a debut. Chukwu's style is definitely unique as he experiments with different flows and beats throughout
Light, and he pulls it all off flawlessly. On top of the diverse production on
Light, it's Kami's lyrics that really caught my attention. His verse and delivery on "Red Rover", along with a dope first verse from Brian Fresco and XXYYXX on the beat, has easily made it one of my favourite songs of the year. I've said it before and I'll say it again, SaveMoney is no joke. If you're still not familiar with this group of Chicago kids do yourself a favour and download the following;
