As I watched Diddy and Dirty money perform "Ass on the Floor" this past weekend on SNL-- which was actually last week's installment of Swizz Beatz's Monster Monday jam--I couldn't stop thinking of how sub-par the MM free track series is compared to Ye's G.O.O.D Fridays. That was a good run, wasn't it?

Nevertheless, it's good to see Eve's name back up in the headlines. "Hot Steppa" isn't really groundbreaking shit-- we get a thousand e-mails per day with tracks where rappers drop general braggadocio stuff like "People stay hungry so I gotta feed the masses/never really left thou, I be everlasting." The thing with Eve is that when she says it, you sorta get the feeling she's right.

[Audio] Monster Mondays Presents Swizz Beatz – “DJ Play The Beat” ft. Estelle

This morning via his Twitter account, Kanye West announced the commencement of producer extraordinaire Swizz Beatz's Monster Mondays, a weekly free mp3 series likely inspired by the success of Kanye's own G.O.O.D fridays. "DJ Play the Beat" (which, contra title, keeps the beat stifled) is the first track in the Monster Mondays installment.

Beatz has contributed regularly to Kanye's G.O.O.D series, including the most recent track, "Don't Look Down."
