I've been hearing some things about this rapper Frank Leone out of Illinois and finally I got to see what all the talk was about.
Ruby Hornet premiered
Deep Ocean last night, a 7 song EP that perfectly illustrates who Frank is as an artist. His mellow flow captures the listener from start to finish. The spacey production heard throughout
Deep Ocean helps carry Frank's style as a rapper, making this a great overall listen. Frank stays local with the features, as fellow Chicago natives
Vic Mensa and Nico Segal of Kids These Days as well as a personal favourite
Kami De Chukwu make their own respected appearances on
Deep Ocean.
“This EP is my first full project most people have heard of mine,” Frank said when asked about the importance of the project. “I have released a few mixtapes, but this project is going to define me as an artist, and I intend to broaden the horizons of what hip hop can sound like.”
Stream the EP below and if you like what you hear a download link is available as well.
