"They tell you white man can't rap, white man can't jump/ Black man can't be president or shoot no puck/ You take all them stereotypes and rip that up/ And this the song they gonna play when you win that Cup."
Hip-hop and hockey, two things not normally seen together. In "Say I", Saukrates and Hamilton native OB O'Brien make a case for why they should start to be. The song was originally crafted for Nike's Always On campaign, featuring PK Subban. The Montreal Canadiens defenceman gets a shout-out in OB's verse. Check out the video below, the actual song starts at 1:05. Photo credit to Cristhian Ramirez.
The first time I heard Money was last summer on the Stylus Mixtape. King Reign featuring Saukrates, Kardinal Offishall and production by Boi-1da, how could you go wrong? You can download the single below from bandcamp and don't forget Kardinal is in London Nov 10 at The Wave. Click the poster on the top right hand side for full details.
Big Soxx's The Underground Tapes is easily my favourite Toronto rap album ever. Considering that was dropped in '99, it's about time Saukrates released another record. Don't get me wrong, he's been busy producing classics and steadily giving us verses in between LP's. Drop it Down is the first official track from the new album Saukrates: Season One. As a bonus, check out the track Na Na Na ft. O.B Brien, Michelle Nyce, & Andreena Mill.

I discovered Relic on Shad's Facebook Fan Page, they collaborated on Count Your Blessings. To my surprise this wasn't the first time they worked together Relic mixed 70% of Shad's album The Old Prince , produced Out of Love Part. 2 and is featured on #3 What We All Want.
On the same day that I discovered Relic, he sent me a download link for his album The Green Light and I was truly blown away. I invited him for a interview on The Come Up Show and after connecting with Relic, I felt The Green Light didn't get the exposure it deserves. With songs like Just The Day featuring Saukrates, Easy Now, HopeFull, and many more.
That is why it is available for FREE download from MARCH 1- APRIL 1. Make sure to preview the album on bandcamp and free download link is available below. Enjoy.

I don't know how I haven't seen this until NOW but better late than never. This is AMAZING.
I know Christmas is over but Kardinal Offishall, Saukrates, D-Sisive, Buck 65, Maestro, Moka Only, and Michie Mee doing a cover over Kurtis Blow Christmas Rappin?
This classic was featured on CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight Holiday Special. Thank You GEORGE.
