The newly-formed Holy Order (consisting of New York emcees Sene, ScienZe, YC The Cynic and Soul Khan) recently released their self-titled first single, spitting raw lyrics over Audible Doctor's head-nodding production. The Holy Order's genesis comes as little surprise, as we've seen plenty collaborations already between these four (check out the most recent between Sene & ScienZe). YC The Cynic makes his TCUS debut here, and he definitely impresses. Stream "The Holy Order" below.
Oooohhhhweeee! Sene just dropped this joint out of the blue today; "Suicide Kings" is a collaboration by Sene and fellow Brooklyn emcee Scienze under the moniker Stoop Kids. I'm definitely feeling the chemistry between these two, and EOM provides the perfect funky, spaced-out production for "Suicide Kings". Listening with bass is a must on this one. Reks just released the visuals to "La Luna", off his recent album REBELutionary. On "La Luna", Reks is joined by Venessa Renee on the chorus, as well as two of my favourite New York emcees, Sene and Koncept, on guest verses. Ft. Lauderdale producer Numonics handles the beat on this one - as he does for the entirety of REBELutionary - and provides a smooth, piano-laced composition. Check out the visuals to "La Luna" below.
Brooklyn emcee ScienZe is nearing the release of his pray/tell album, and here is the first single which I'm assuming will be the intro track for the project called "pray tell. (Intro)". ScienZe has definitely gotten me excited for the full album with this initial offering. The single features Britain Parker who adds a nice touch before and after ScienZe's verse. The production by Sene and Sly5thAve is really well done. They keep the sound eerie yet simple for ScienZe and Parker to jump on, but they only appear in the first half of the track. The second half goes to Sene and Sly showing of their production skills adding some horns and more unique sounds to finish off the song. Stream "pray tell. (Intro)" below and be on the lookout for ScienZe's pray/tell album coming soon.
If you know anything about my musical tastes, you'll know that this lineup has me going bananas right now. Sene teams up with friends Blu and ANTHM as well as Britain Parker on the hook for the self-produced "Young Leaders". Sene's laid-back production on this one is nice, and each verse is fantastic. Here's hoping there's more collaborations in store from these artists in the future. Stream and purchase "Young Leaders" below.
