There were a whole swag of events wrapped up in this past week's CBC Canadian hip-hop summit in Toronto, including performances, talks, interviews, radio programming, and more. The aim of the event was to celebrate and take an inventory of Canadian hip-hop, a theme which was celebrated in this interview series with some of Canada's more successful emcees. Michee Mee talks the barriers she had to overcome as a Jamaican woman-- a double minority-- in Canadian hip-hop, Shad discusses the Godfather and what it is to be an "old soul," Kardinal gives some valuable advice to young Canadian artists, and Maestro spits some sincerity as always, and delights with what is the best "HA!" I have probably ever heard. Click below to watch all of the videos.
