Let me just say this, Locksmith is a beast! There's few rappers bar for bar that make my jaw hit the floor when I take in their music and Locksmith is one of those artist's that have me saying "Damn!" everytime. Locksmith recently went through to talk about his newest album, A Thousand Cuts and dropped a freestyle for DJ Kay Slay that should put to rest any doubts some naysayers may have. Locksmith is the truth! Take in part one and two of his freestyle on Shade 45 and let me know if you feel any different, cause I'm willing to bet your thoughts will be the same.
Kanye West is currently headlining his Yeezus tour and has been the forefront of multiple interviews lately, sitting down with Cipha Sounds/Peter Rosenberg, Power 105.1's Breakfast Club, and Hot 97's Angie Martinez. Yesterday, Kanye West also made his first appearance on Shade 45 where he spoke on Sway In The Morning. In the interview, the two talk about the Yeezus tour, what producers inspired him, DONDA, and more. During the discussion, Kanye becomes very passionate when asked a certain question (17:20), as things start to get intense. Take in the full interview and let us know if you agree or disagree with Mr. West and his vision.
Heading over to Shade 45 for a second time, Locksmith sits down with DJ Kay Slay and spits another crazy freestyle, this time over Joey Bada$$'s "Waves" instrumental. If you've been following all the posts we have done on The Green Box than you should already know that this man is insane with his wordplay. Take a second to watch the live freestyle footage underneath and check out our own exclusive forty minute in depth conversation with Locksmith on The Come Up Show Radio if you haven't already.
"No sign of a co-sign so I devote my pen to breaking them 05' trends and that's the boat I'm in, so what do I stand to gain from n****s with local fame that's still waiting for other dudes to co-sign them. Than they claim legendary when all of our legends barely get recognized for their deeds and other regions believe that the Bay is LA, but they don't fully understand that it's 6 hours away, it's like a whole other planet"
Stopping by Shade 45 to promote The Green Box, Locksmith goes in with a crazy freestyle for DJ Kay Slay. This has to be the freestyle of the year! Watch Locksmith bless the mic after a quote from his verse and let me know if you think he killed it in the comments section!
"Screenshots of an industry showing sympathy, condemning actions of an image we push initially. Eventually we all find ourselves immersed in it, we all want attention but some of you n***** worship it"
