Maryland's Steph Castro just dropped his Live And Let Die mixtape, a project that has been eagerly awaited here at The Come Up Show. While the subject matter is nothing really new (see "Sex, Money & Murder"), Steph's laid-back flow is just so easy to listen to, and makes up for any shortcomings in innovation. The smooth production throughout this mixtape complements Steph's flow nicely, and keeps the entire project flowing from start to finish. Lots of strings, horns, and even flute-driven production, fitting the James Bond feel. This is the kind of summer mixtape you want to play while driving with the windows rolled down. Early favourites include "Extension 88s", "Over & Over" ft. Ike Da Kid, "Check Ins & Check Outs", "Cream Team", "Miami Nights", and "Sunsets" (my personal favourite track from the mixtape). DMV emcee Steph Castro just dropped another track, "Over & Over", leading up to the release of his Live and Let Die project, slated for release this month. Nawlig handles the production here, and provides a funky, West-coast/Middle-eastern fusion feel for Castro, who is joined by fellow AMN teammate Ike Da Kid on the verses. This is definitely my favourite cut so far off Live and Let Die, a project which also includes "Cream Team" and "They Love It". Stream and download "Over & Over" below. Download: Steph Castro ft. Maryland native Steph Castro just released the music video his latest track "Cream Team", off his upcoming project Live and Let Die. Rarest Element provides the strings-driven production on this one, as Steph Castro lays down some slick, laid-back rhymes. For more from Steph Castro, check out "They Love It" (the lead single off Live and Let Die), and my personal favourites "Keys To The City" and "Clear Water Chillin". Check out the music video for "Cream Team" below.
Maryland artist Steph Castro just dropped "They Love It", the lead single off his upcoming mixtape entitled Live and Let Die. Dude first caught my attention with the visuals to his smooth tracks "Keys To The City" and "Clear Water Chillin", both of which come off his May 2011 EP The Art of Cloud Hopping. Castro slows it down on the Moe King-produced "They Love It", stream and download the track below. Download: Steph Castro - "They Love It" (Prod: Moe King)
