Another great track from Minty Burns. "Shisha Monster" has a summery, Califorinia-esque flow that's about a beautiful, carefree socialite who loves, as the title suggests, Shisha. "Convertible lifestyle/ Life quite 'Wow/...Daddy got her back/ Condo and a whip/ She do s*** to get attention/ Instagramming pics/ I come all the way from Canada and visit as she trippin'/ Anybody in their right mind would never let her slip" Minty spits about an irresistible, yet materialistic girl. "Shisha Monster" is a easy-going track that really took me out of my winter funk while listening to it (It also makes me want to move to the West Coast). Minty Burns is on a role with new singles. He debuted his first track, "Already Gone" off his upcoming project, The Golden Ticket. Be sure to take a listen and tell me what you think.
Minty Burns has dropped "Emotions", another single following "Already Gone". Hailing from Toronto, Minty has now teamed up with A&R man Gully from Cinematic Music Group for his newest project, The Golden Ticket, which drops soon. The Golden Ticket will include production from Chase N Cashe, Arthur McArthur, Wondagurl, and Rich Kidd, amongst others. I am a big fan of Minty- everything he brings to the table is refreshing, relatable, and unconventional. He binds unfamiliar beats, voices, and sounds with hip-hop, and "Emotions" brings them together so perfectly. The title sums up the experience; it's a starry, laid-back song with emotionally charged words, with Deuce Wonder owning the hook with his conflicted, slow-tempo, dream-like voice: "What is this emotion, that's got me feeling down?/ It seems to me, it only comes whenever you're around/ So tell me why I want you with me now?" I cannot wait for the release of The Golden Ticket- everything Minty does is promising. While I wait, I'll be keeping this track on replay.
Minty Burns is an upcoming artist from Toronto, with an already developing global fan base. His single "Already Gone" is off his upcoming project, The Golden Ticket set to drop in 2014. This track is fresh; I love how upbeat it is, as well as the trumpets blaring in the background and the rhymes- each artists delivers an unbelievably solid verse. "Already Gone" is about Minty's takeoff to success, his city, and building himself from the ground up. I can definitely see this track on the radio sometime soon- it needs to be. Minty also has his own recording studio, Belvia Sound, which is a respected studio in Toronto. Artists such as Drake, Raekwon, Sean Price, Slaughterhouse, French Montana, Waka Flocka, Kardinal Official and Travis Porter have all recorded at Minty's studio. Minty's dedication to his music is admirable, and his energy really comes through in this amazing track. "Already Gone" is a cohesive and feel-good song that showcases Minty, Tona and Mikkey Halstead's talent. I'm looking forward to more great things from his new project.
