Ish is a recording artist of Jamaican and Irish decent. He developed a love for music at a young age. His grandfather was a well known Calypso singer in Jamaica, and his father Ras Lee's single "Moonlight Lover" was nominated for a Juno Award in 1986 for Best Reggae Song. Ish's first single "Falling in Love With You" broke the top 40 position on Canadian radio and mediabase charts, this earned him a nomination for best Urban single at the Canadian Radio Music Awards.
