Remember when Shad dropped
"Peace" awhile back? Well, it turns out the Skratch Bastid-produced track wasn't just a one-off. Shad and Skratch Bastid just announced a collaborative EP,
The Spring Up, that's set for digital release later this month. As a preview of what's to come, they've released the
Cadence Weapon-assisted "Homie". The EP was recorded shortly after wrapping up work on Shad's upcoming full length,
Flying Colours. Aside from Skratch Bastid's production, we can expect some production from DJ Jazzy Jeff (who's been touring with Bastid). The EP will also include a finished version of "Peace", which was previously just a demo. Stream "Homie" below.
DROP. EVERYTHING. Shad and Skratch Bastid just dropped this fantastic remix of Kanye West's "Bound 2" that needs your immediate attention. Let's face it, anytime Shad drops a new verse, I'm already sold, but to drop it over - in my opinion - the best (and really the only good) track off Yeezus? It's already a winner before even listening. I know my thoughts on Yeezus are probably different than yours, but that's a whole other debate, so let's stick to the remix here. The Vancouver-based emcee does this track so much justice, it brings tears to my eyes. Skratch Bastid handles the cuts. Can we please hurry up and get Flying Colours already?
