Paying homage to the Clan, Toronto rapper JD Era recently dropped "Wu Tang Forever," a remix of the promotional single from Drake's latest album, Nothing Was The Same. The Ice H20 signee shows his respect by utilizing wordplay and lyrics, further proving why he's one of the best in the game. After receiving a Juno Nomination for his mixtape, No Handouts this year, it's only fitting to end 2013 on a high note. JD Era will be headlining a 7 stop "Do You Know Mary" tour in December. This remix of "Wu Tang Forever" will serve as the introduction to the release and video of his new single "Do You Know Mary".
Today we are proud to premiere JR Fillion's remix over Drake's "Wu-Tang Forever" featuring Jay Downz. The way this song came about was very sporadic, I sat down with both JR Fillion and Jay Downz to conduct an interview and they decided to give an exclusive for it which they wrote and recorded in under an hour; talk about talent! On this one JR Fillion sets it off right away making his own of the instrumental followed by Jay Downz. Both these emcees are dedicated to their work undoubtedly and this track portrays that work ethic one hundred percent. You can catch live footage of this studio session as well as some insight to this track once the interview drops, until then take in this exclusive "Wu-Tang Forever" remix by JR Fillion and Jay Downz and let me know what you think, which version do you enjoy better?
After "Shabba" and "Fear Me"; Sese is back with his verse over Drake's "Wu-Tang Forever" as promised. I love when Sese comes out with verses like this and I can probably name twenty off hand that are my favorite and the list keeps growing. This ill, yet smooth instrumental leaves you with a mystique feeling as Sese gets reminiscent zoning out over the beat. I know there is at least five tracks already made for his upcoming project The Sayzor Ramone EP so hopefully we can expect that sometime this fall. Until then take in his latest releases and let me know what you think in the comments section. Download: Sese - Wu-Tang Forever
ANTHM recently released "Listen The F*** Up", freestyling over Drake's "Wu-Tang Forever". As the title suggests, he's got a couple things he wants to get off his chest. Also true to ANTHM's fashion, it's one of those songs you'll want to rewind numerous times to catch all the metaphors and double-entendres. For more on ANTHM, make sure to check out our latest interview with him where we discuss The Fire Next Time, putting regrets in the past, growing as an artist, and much more. Stream and download "Listen The F*** Up" below.
Fresh off an album release, with songs playing heavily on the radio; D-Pryde drops a remix over two Drake songs "Furthest Thing" and "Wu-Tang Forever". This being how he started gaining attention long ago by doing freeverses, it's cool to see him doing one every now and then especially when he is known to go hard when doing them! The visuals are filmed around his hometown of Brampton, Ontario and in front of his old high school. Take in the video after some words from D-Pryde and be sure to purchase his album Canal & Richvale afterwards.
"Freeverses, I came from these. I haven't been home in so long; I've been touring and working very hard and it's always good to have a break. I wanted to go back to my roots with this one. Brampton forever; thanks for everybody who made an appearence. No I am not going back to doing a billion freestyles over other people's beats, but it's always good to touch back onto my roots once in a while right? Drake is about to take over with his album, so in celebration of one of my biggest influences dropping his third album, I wanted to remix my 2 favorite songs on "Nothing Was The Same", enjoy".Purchase: D-Pryde - Canal & Richvale
