Turn down for what? You're about to turn up once you hear DillanPonder's latest remix off his NUMB EP for "XXX" featuring the talented Ziba. This is a way different sound than the original, and it caters to all the EDM fans out there as well. Production done by Steve Bonas. DillanPonders highly anticipated sophomore LP, The Boy Who Lived, is slated to be released August 13th via SmashMouth Music Group. Which I can't wait for! Seeing DillanPonders perform is so hype and if you take in his music you will hear why. It's a break from the norm, "XXX" remix that is, but it's a good one. If you can't bump this cruising in your whip or at the club, I'm not sure what to say.
Seeing as Danny Brown is one of the most interesting artists in hip-hop right now, it was only a matter of time before we got a documentary on him. Pitchfork.tv just dropped Detroit State of Mind, a 20-minute documentary special on the man behind XXX. For fans of Danny Brown, this is a must-watch. Produced and directed by Eavvon O'Neal, and shot and edited by William Colby, the documentary follows Danny with his family, recording new music, performing at Dilla Day, and more. Watch the documentary below. If the embedded version doesn't play, check it here.
The track first appeared on Black's Album of The Year LP that dropped last year but was added as the last track on the recent EP of the same name. Video treatment has been given for one of my favorite songs of the past year...and Danny Brown's verse is purely crack. I replay it 5 or 6 times every time I listen.
If you know me, you know I'm pumped for this EP to drop. Black Milk & Danny Brown are teaming up to release the Black & Brown EP which is set to drop on November 1st via Fat Beats.

The first time I heard Danny Brown was on "Dilla Bot vs. The Hybrid" off Dilla's Jay Stay Paid album. Being original in hip-hop used to be not only celebrated but necessary for a new emcee to breakthrough. Brown's flow is self-described as being influenced by the fiends he was exposed to growing up in the D. Released yesterday, this is Danny's first project since his recent signing to Fool's Gold Records. Better yet, it's FREE! Listen to the whole project, it gets better with every listen.
