The Yancey Boys, consisting of J Illa and Frank Nitt, release their latest video from their project Sunset Blvd ,which was entirely produced by J. Dilla. The record is built around a recently unearthed batch J.Dilla instrumentals too nice to leave unused. Whether Yancey Boys purpose is to engage the listener to the sounds of neo-soul or to highlight J Dilla's endless talent, this entire project is hands down a hip hop classic. It's refreshing to hear a nice hip hop track with a smooth R&B hook. Take In the latest visuals off the project with "Lovin U," and share your thoughts.
The Yancey Boys (J Dilla & his younger sibling Illa J) hit us with a new cut which I'm guessing is a release off of the upcoming The Lost Scrolls releases. Vol. 1 has dropped and is available on iTunes. Ma Dukes (J Dilla's Mother) is going to continue to release music that was unreleased and re-discovered and given to her.
Delicious Vinyl recently released "The Throwaway", a new single by the Yancey Boys (J Dilla and his brother Illa J) featuring Frank Nitt (of Frank & Dank). "The Throwaway" is the initial offering from what Dilla's music catalogue curator Frank Nitt calls 'The Lost Scrolls' - a treasure trove of previously unreleased productions from Dilla's extensive body of work. Stream and purchase "The Throwaway" below.
