Skitso Frenic's latest release, H.A.H.A. 2: Jokes On You! has been making waves all over Ontario and beyond since it dropped. Full of countless songs any hip-hop fan can vibe to, "Hail Mary" on of my personal favorites, features another rising start, Young Stitch. Both of them equally amazing, when they get together on this stoner delight, you can easily tell amidst all the herb smoked during the video shoot, these two have no problem dropping lighting things up. Directed by iLLvibe, "Hail Mary" is going to be your smoke anthem for the summer! Hit play and join the session.
2013 was a fine year for hip-hop videos. Not only did Drake win the BET award for "Best Hip-Hop Video", Macklemore & Ryan Lewis took home the VMAs "Best Hip-Hop video" for "Can't Hold Us" ft. Ray Dalton and Classified ft. David Myles won "Video of the Year", "Best Hip-Hop Video" and "MuchFact Video of the Year" for "Inner Ninja" at the MMVAs. Music videos always add another dimension to the track, but while they can make us think of a song in a new light, at times they can leave us scratching our heads. Here are The Come Up Show's staff list of our favourite hip-hop videos of 2013 that blew our minds. Read the full article after the jump.
By now I'm sure you've heard Young Stitch's new mixtape Never Alone, filled with a ton of great tracks, there's a few that stand out the most to me, "Life Is A Bitch" being one of them. Filming this one while at a show in Peterborough together, the track "Life Is A Bitch" featuring Casper and Ize gives you the chills when listening to it, just for the fact of how deep both emcee's get on their verses. While at another video shoot with Casper, Treetop and Craig Scorgie - the director, we were shown a clip of the video and I'll say the wait has been excruciating because Craig brought this song to life, the animations he throws in add to the feel of it. Take a minute to check out the homie Young Stitch's new video "Life Is A Bitch" featuring Casper and Ize and let me know how it makes you feel afterwards.
King Of The Dot has been the fastest growing rap battle league, starting in school yard's to selling out Toronto's biggest clubs like The Guvernment and even hosting battles across the border. With some of the best rap battler's from all over the world, it is a league of epic proportions and it only grows more with each event. The homie Young Stitch back not to long ago was a part of the King Of The Dot battle scene, telling the story of his ups and downs throughout battle rapping he takes to remake on of this years hottest tracks "Let Nas Down" and gives us a view from his eye's no one might have noticed before. It's very tough to touch a track that created so much buzz and have it draw the same attention as the original, but Young Stitch is known for making amazing records and he definitely made a classic song we will be looking back on for years to come. Take in "Let King Of The Dot Down" after a quote from the track and some words from Young Stitch, also if you haven't yet go download his newest project Never Alone that came out not to long ago. "Long live your idols may they never be your rivals, D Rec was like Jesus, Ganik' wrote the bible. Now what your about to hears a tale of glory and sin, and what I did to all my fans, now let the story begin"
This is the story of my battle-rap career (both ups and downs). These are simply MY experiences and I encourage everyone to take part in King of the Dot and enjoy the many amazing battles posted. I have nothing but LOVE for all those that have made KOTD happen.. and a special thank you to Organik, Gully, Avi, and Pvp for giving this up-and-comer the chance to prove himself. This is a story about MY trials and tribulations.. and MY mistakes.. NOT theirs.. just incase people wanted to get it twisted. This song is to inform the many curious fans that always ask me the same question.. "why don't you battle any more stitch?!" This is a response to that question. Much love KOTD.. keep continuing to Inspire, and keep crushing all competition. -Stitch
