[Audio] Ekelle- “Body Work” (Prod: Pdub The Producer)

Toronto based femcee Ekelle hits us with a track called “Body Work” in preparation for her debut mixtape “Use Me” which is slated for a June release date. Produced by Pdub The Producer, the listener first hears the simple beat before it gains steam allowing Ekelle’s vocals to take the stage. Ekelle takes advantage of a club like feel in “Body Work” with it’s catchy hook & powerful rhymes, while making an effort to prove to her listeners that she isn’t going anywhere soon.

Ekelle tends to rhyme about a variety of topics, from issues of class, poverty, her life in Toronto, sex, work, and other prominent subjects that relate to her life. With inspiration from rappers including: Nicki MinajAzealia BanksLil’ Kim, and Eminem, as well as artists from other genres such as: Britney Spears, Maroon 5, & Paramore, her diverse music taste is reflected in her tunes. After looking forward to watching “Hit List” on YTV every Saturday as a little girl, Ekelle knew she wanted to get into the industry, thus beginning her journey. Struggling to become independent at 16, and the experiences of growing up in a single parent home gave birth to her style, and fueled her fire. Currently, Ekelle is promoting her song “Body Work”, and has plans to visit Atlanta to promote her upcoming mixtape.
